CCS Releases Inspection Guide for Intelligent Cargo Management of Ships (Tankers)

In August 2018, China Classification Society (CCS) officially issued the "Guide to Intelligent Cargo Management and Inspection of Ships (Tankers)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guide"), which is another intelligent ship inspection guide since CCS issued the series of intelligent ship guides. The guidelines will take effect on October 1, 2018.


Since CCS issued the "Code for Smart Ships" in 2015, many ships have applied for CCS smart ship additional marks. In order to adapt to the development of ship's liquid cargo handling control system, improve the efficiency of liquid cargo handling, relieve the fatigue of personnel during cargo handling, increase the safety of ships and personnel, shorten the stay time of ships in port, and finally achieve the fundamental purpose of improving economic benefits, CCS has taken oil tankers as the research object and compiled the "Inspection Guide for Intelligent Cargo Management of Ships (Oil Tankers)".


The main content of the guide is divided into seven chapters, taking oil tankers as the object, and making supplementary explanations and detailed provisions for the contents of intelligent cargo management in chapter 6 of the code for intelligent ships, which specifies the technical requirements, inspection and test requirements applicable to the classification inspection of the cargo, cargo compartment monitoring and alarm and auxiliary decision system, intelligent cargo distribution system and automatic cargo handling system of ships (oil tankers).


Chapter 1 General Principles define the scope of application of the guidelines and give general requirements.


Chapter 2 The cargo and cargo compartment monitoring alarm and auxiliary decision-making system requires intelligent ships suitable for C function mark.
